Community Service Project to Balai, Indonesia

In 2019, I took part in a voluntary program hosted by Boys' Town. It was a 2-days and 1-night program in Balai, Indonesia. We participated in food rationing for those in need as well as checking on others who might be facing challenges. We went to check on the people who are faced with financial issues and those who are in need of medical and housing help. The main in-charge of this program was sponsoring a school in Balai, so we had the opportunity to help out there. We helped out in upgrading works of the school to provide a better experience for the children. The voluntary experience was an eye-opening experience for me and showed me life is just more than just material.

Museum of the Unlovables

In 2018, I took part in a project called Project Fireworks. It is a project conducted by YouthReach, the outreach arm of Boys' Town. It was a collaboration with youth to share their stories. We shared uncomfortable trauma and hurt through various forms of expressive arts and spoke about topics that have affected us, such as social media, family, labelling and mental health. The objective of this project was to conversations and a better understanding of youths from the public. Hence, coming up with the production name,
"Museum of the Unlovables".
